pro Fit is a Macintosh (Mac OS) application for data/function analysis, plotting, and curve fitting. It is used by scientists and engineers to analyze their measurements and the mathematical models they use to describe them.

Scientists or students can define any mathematical function and use it to model their data, finding by linear or nonlinear curve fitting the function parameters that best describe their observations. Moreover, they can use a number of tools for the mathematical and statistical analysis of functions and data sets, and they can produce esthetically pleasing graphical representations for their scientific reports.

pro Fit 6.1.9 released

Thanks to our users who report us errors in pro Fit we were again able to fix a number of bugs in pro Fit. Some fixes relate to data import, masking in data windows, and manual or automated data fitting with Levenberg-Marquart algorithm. We recommend the download for all users. See the release notes for more details. 6.1.9 is a free upgrade for all users of pro Fit 6.1 and works with the same registration codes. Download it from our purchasing page.

pro Fit 6.1.0 released (May 14, 2007)

We are happy to announce the release of pro Fit 6.1, a universal binary running natively on Intel processors. It is immediately available for download. pro Fit 6.1 is a free upgrade for anyone who bought pro Fit since January 1, 2006, and is available for a reduced upgrade fee of USD 55 for all other users of pro Fit 6.0 from our purchasing page.

The new version provides a powerful new tool for multidimensional curve fitting, a revamped rendering engine for plots with native Core Graphics, PDF, and postscript support, many powerful additions to its scripting language, and more. pro Fit 6.1 is a "universal application" running natively on both Intel and PowerPC systems, with a built in compiler that also generates native Intel and PowerPC code.

pro Fit and the new Intel-based Macs

The latest version 6.0 of pro Fit is still fully compatbile with the new Intel-based Macs and runs under Rosetta emulation. However, the new version 6.1 of pro Fit runs natively on both the PowerPC and Intel processors, and therefore, shows better performance on Intel processors.
